Celebrate the Anniversary of FDR's First Fireside Chat in a Poughkeepsie Historic District Residence on March 8, 2025

President Franklin D. Roosevelt understood the importance of radio as a medium and used everyday language when addressing the American people. Bring your group of up to 8 adults to Michael and Patrick's 125 year old Victorian Stick Style home in the Dwight Street Historic District of Poughkeepsie and relive that first radio experience as Americans did on March 12, 1933. Listen to the original recording of FDR's First Fireside Chat next to a relaxing fire and enjoy a martini, (FDR’s favorite!) and 1930s hors d'oeuvres!

Discussion will follow, lead by Michael, an archival researcher and FDR enthusiast. The date will be rescheduled in the event of bad weather. Minimum age 21. After arrangements are confirmed, the winning bidder must notify the contact with the number of people attending at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to event date of Saturday, March 8, 2025.
